Torpedo Rocks Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Yield: 4 tonne/hectare
Soils: Alluvial flats and quartz gravel
Winemaking: Dry grown, hand-picked, basket pressed - 5% being whole bunches - malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged for 18 months in 100% Grande Reserve French Oak used with the new oak component being 40% with 2, and 3 year old oak barriques. The new oak percentage has come from middle of the forrest growth oak with a tighter knit and seamless feel.
Tasting Comments: This is the type of wine you want to take home to meet your parents with the approval to marry - it ticks all the boxes. The nose is of sumptuous fruits; brambles, red berries, mulberries, black cherries and blackcurrant. The palate is intense & unctuous with bold concentrated flavours of dark and red fruits, a rounded texture and an astounding balance of ripeness, acidity and defined tannin structure. Like its predecessors this powerful and elegant wine will age beautifully. This will cellar for another 15 years.
