Cape Naturaliste D-Block Cabernet 2022
Winemaking: : Hand-picked, basket pressed in whole bunches, malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged for 12 months in French Oak with 25% new oak.
Tasting Comments: The bouquet of this wine takes you back to your childhood of damp forest walks in winter; earthy, mossy notes that mark the traditional characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon. BUT…hiding amongst the forest trees are the black and blue (no they haven’t been beaten) berries that we find in summer puddings. A medium bodied wine as it has only spent 12 months in oak so there is not too much mouth puckering. This gives way to pops of wild dark berries, cassis, raspberries, black plums with gentle nudges of Crème Brulee. An easy drinking style that can be enjoyed now or cellared for the next 10 years.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
